At Lutheran-Episcopal Campus Ministries we recognize that Christians ought to work together in faithful ventures, and so we work closely with other campus ministries to offer students and faculty the greatest wealth of opportunities to work out their lives of faith. We have a special relationship with the Wesley Foundation (United Methodist) and United Campus Ministry (Presbyterian/UCC), since our denominations share common views about worship and ways of reading the bible. As a result, on this site you will find reference to the offerings of these ministries as well as our own and encourage you to come and join us in our common journey as Christ's disciples. LECM also recognizes the need for safe places for all people to live out their faith, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, race or marital status. As a result, LECM is seeking to join with its partner ministry, the Wesley Foundation, under a common statement of welcome, developed by the Wesley Foundation and adopted by LECM at its September 2010 board meeting:
We recognize that every person is of sacred worth. We strive to be an authentic, transforming, Christ-centered community that nourishes the mental, emotional, and spiritual growth of all people. We seek to affirm those marginalized because of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, and culture. Following the example of Jesus, we open our doors and hearts to all.
